Baked Ziti

A classic baked ziti.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 1 lb dry ziti pasta

Meat Sauce

  • 1 whole onionchopped
  • 1 lb lean ground turkeyreplaces ground beef
  • 52 oz spaghetti saucetwo 26 oz jars

Cream Layer

  • 1.5 cups plain nonfat Greek yogurtreplaces sour cream

Cheese

  • 6 oz provolone cheesesliced
  • 6 oz mozzarella cheeseshredded
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. 1.Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add ziti pasta and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain.
  2. 2.In a large skillet over medium heat cook onion and ground turkey until browned.
  3. 3.Add spaghetti sauce to the skillet and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. 4.Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  5. 5.Layer ingredients in the baking dish: half of the cooked ziti, provolone cheese, Greek yogurt, half of the sauce mixture, remaining ziti, mozzarella cheese, and remaining sauce.
  6. 6.Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. 7.Bake for 30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
